About Us
Hi, I’m Alex Zagami Ng
and PiccoliNY is my love letter to New York City.
and PiccoliNY is my love letter to New York City.

I come from a long line of small business owners
and have fond memories of my aunt's children’s gift store. My mother was a successful hairdresser, and later, a baker -- all while raising two children. My maternal grandfather owned and operated a bakery on Catherine Street for 60 years. Following in their entrepreneurial footsteps was the most instinctive thing for me to do, and opening PiccoliNY in Little Italy, just around the corner from where my grandfather's bakery was located, was such a full circle moment for me.

I was inspired by Milton Glaser's iconic 'I Love NY' logo
to create the original Hot Dog Pretzel NY design. I printed the design on t-shirts and onesies and sold them out of a tent at The Feast of San Gennaro. They sold out instantly.
PiccoliNY quickly became a neighborhood staple and a must-visit destination for locals and travelers. As a mom who wanted great products for my own son, I made sure to stock PiccolinNY with a carefully curated collection of clothes, toys, books, and accessories that were bold, hip, and reflected the spirit of downtown Manhattan. Getting to know my customers and neighbors has been one of the most gratifying experiences of having a shop.

But like so many other small business owners, I was forced to pivot in the wake of COVID.
This meant closing my beloved neighborhood brick and mortar store, but hey, New Yorkers are resilient! For now, PiccoliNY designs are available online, at select neighborhood retailers and Saks Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan, so friends can continue to have a little piece of New York wherever they may be.
