About Us
For founder and third-generation Alex Zagami, PiccoliNY was born on Mulberry Street in Nolita with one playful idea: a hot dog and pretzel design printed on baby onesies. The inspiration came from founder Alex’s daily commute to Bloomingdale’s SoHo, when the smell of hot dogs and pretzels greeted her the moment she stepped off the R train at Prince Street. That simple comfort of New York life became the spark.
The first onesies were printed in a tiny East Village shop and made their debut at the San Gennaro Feast. With a little help from friends at Rubirosa, the designs sold out instantly. That was the lightbulb moment: people weren’t looking for another generic memento tee. They wanted gifts with heart, items that carried a story.
Since then, PiccoliNY has grown from a scrappy festival table into a brand carried by MoMA Design Store, Saks, Merci Paris, and soon Nordstrom. Milestones have included collaborations with icons like the Empire State Building, complete with a King Kong design, as well as countless playful collections inspired by New York’s nostalgic spirit.
At its heart, PiccoliNY is about joy, connection, and storytelling. From pizza-slice teethers to NYC-inspired graphics, every piece is made to spark a memory and make gifting more personal. Whether for a lifelong New Yorker or someone who loves the city from afar, PiccoliNY brings a piece of New York home.
